First impressions are very favourable indeed.The black clubhead is very large for a 3 wood (like a Ping TisiTec or Callaway great big bertha 11),but it does not unwieldy or ugly.The crown has alignment aids similar to the 500 series driver and the 300 before that,which always helps to square the clubhead at address.
The club sits beautifully behind the ball and the black shaft mates very nicely with both clubhead and grip.The ball seems minute in relation to the clubhead,which will please high handicappers (increased confidence) but may confuse low shooters who may feel that draws and fades will be difficult.

Performance:
The overall weight of this club is very light when one considers the size of the clubhead.This will help slower swingers (players of advancing years,weaker players) generate more clubhead speed.However,stronger players will look for more weight in a club for a more solid overall feel at impact.
The results from this club are impressive.This thing hits the ball miles!Swing slow and watch the ball fly off on a high trajectory and just keep going!Because of the large clubhead this is a really good alternative off the tee on tight driving holes and long 3 pars.Fairway hits are sweet and the contoured sole picks the ball off with ease.
Mishits are barely noticed and fly well.The only knock on this club is from the rough as the clubhead size makes it difficult to force the club through the cabbage.

Value:
The huge price tag is not justified.A matched set of 3,5 and 7 woods will set you back a fortune.There will be some who will want the badge,but despite the high quality and performance and more so because of TaylorMade's penchant for frequent model changes,it is advisable to buy for keeps on this one as trade in value may drop significantly.

Verdict:
These are handsome,high performing clubs with a handsome price tag!If you have a lot of cash hanging around (or a loving partner or family!) these are worth the investment.Otherwise buy a second hand 200 steel if you are a Taylormade fan or if you are a low handicap player look around for the amazing Sonartec fairways (SS-03 model is best),truly the rolls Royce of fairway woods.
