nike 275 driver

Club:Nike Forged 275cc driver 9.5 degree loft
Shaft: graphite stiff
Grip:Nike

Looks:It was not so long ago that a 275 cc driver would have been the accepted norm for a titanium clubhead. However in today's era of monster clubheads this model looks almost dated. When placed alongside a 450cc model it looks like a 3 wood in comparison.
The clubhead itself is beautifully made with a broken scoreline on the face and finished in a deep metallic blue which provides nice contrast with the clubface.
The head sits a little open at address (not much though) and while the clubhead is quite narrow from heel to toe it remains quite deep for it's size. The proprietary Nike torsion weave shaft is finished in black and blue and the grip is the fine Nike grip found in almost all other models (made by Lamkin) and giving grip alignment aid.
The club looks classy and understated, something that Nike are becoming renowned for.

Performance:The reason manufacturers offer clubheads of this size nowadays is purely to attract low handicappers and traditionalists who dislike jumbo driver heads.
It is true to say that size = forgiveness for most clubs, but particulary in the longer shafted clubs and most of all in the driver.Ball flight in this club is low and boring and sweet hits travel a long way with plenty of run.
The slightly open face angle makes it easy to work the ball left to right (for the righthander) but draws are harder to conjure up due to the stiff shaft and fade enhancing face.Mishits are harshly treated by the small head and hits near the heel in particular are dead ducks in the air.
The impact sound is muted but solid, however higher handicappers associate the metallic "pwwinng" of many of models (Cobra,Callaway) with solid impact and the "thud" of this model will not be to their liking.

Value:This club is one of the cheaper top of the range models. It's limited appeal and size will hurt resale and trade-in value so this club should be considered a keeper if purchased new.

Verdict:
Solid performer for the solid ball striker.Low handicappers only need apply to use this one.The vast majority of slicers and inconsistent drivers of the ball should avoid a club like this and lean towards a club of 400cc and above (see Nike 450).
Traditionalists and low single digit golfers will like this club, but better value is to be had perhaps in second hand TaylorMade 300 or even Titleist 975D,both being sold routinely for £50-£100.
