Golf club equipment reviews

Our Nike golf clubs site is devoted to a fair and comparative assessment of Nike golf clubs compared to other makes. Where we feel another make offers better value we will tell you. To help your understanding and assessment of each club we give 4 different gradings:

1. Looks
2. Performance
3. Value compared to other clubs or for reselling later.
4. Overall assesment

Each review is marked from 0 to 10 according to our opinion of the club. In the drivers on offer, you can see the range from the more traditional 275 cc driver, still retained because of its more conventional size and for those disliking the new breed of jumbo heads, through to the new ignite lauched in April 2004, The ignite is state of the art in terms of the materials used and is currently in Tiger Woods bag.

In the irons there are the forged blades for the lower handicappers and the more recent slingshots aimed at the higher handicapper
Then there are the CPR i-woods becoming one of the fastest growing woods in the market. They are a cross between a fairway wood and a driving iron .

Whatever your interest read our frank assessment before you buy the club most likely to improve your game.

The launch caused quite a stir in shops and is already a great success. The ignite is intended to replace the forged drivers, not enjoyed by many

Combo sets are a new but not original phenomena in the iron market.Indeed one remembers fine combo sets (then known as "progressive" sets) by such manufacturers as Wilson and Ben Sayers in the mid 1990's. The concept of mixing forgiving cavity back long irons and accurate blade short irons is certainly a sound one. These are beautifully made and finished irons, particulary the compact blades (8-pw).The 3 and 4 irons are full and quite deep cavity backs while the 5-7 irons are semi cavities with a weight pad deep and low in the cavity.

TaylorMade coined the phrase "one size fits none" when it introduced it's 300 series range of drivers some years ago.

Value:
Good value versus Taylormade 500 series,Titleist 983 and Callaway GBB 2 and because of wide appeal and reputation of Nike resale and trade in value is a given.
Marks:9

The Nike 580

Value:
The huge price tag is not justified.A matched set of 3,5 and 7 woods will set you back a fortune

Nike T40 Tour

Value:
These represent good value viz a vi competion.Trade-in and resale value may be hit by limited appeal so this is one to perhaps keep if you settle on a purchase.
